As part of the "Cut of the Border" concert, Friday 17 January at 8.30 pm, Thirteen Ditch, Strasbourg
Documentary about the nomadic musician Fred Frith, who is always looking for new encounters, new sounds and new music that crosses borders and classifications. The film reflects Frith's character: no pre-established structure or clear and precise narrative, but a montage based on unusual sound links. This "improvisation on celluloid" shows us that there is a free and improvised cinema like free jazz can be: wild, sparkling and surprising. The film won the Arte Award for European Documentary of the Year in 1990.
Meeting with Nicolas Humbert will take place at the end of the screening.
